Fritz Polking
The late Fritz Polking photographed nature and wildlife for more than forty years and was one of the most respected and admired wildlife photographers in the world. He grew up in Krefeld, Germany and itwas a fascination for the songbirds that nested in the family garden there that kindled his interests that were to occupy him professionally for the rest of his life. He began his career specializing in European wildlife but subsequently traveled the world building up a remarkable photographic library.
Fritz Polking’s work has been widely published in books and magazines, including National Geograpic, Geo, Der Stern and International Wildlife. During his career he won many awards in Germany, America and the U.K,
including the prestigious BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
